Passwords for Linux Labs and Citrix
26 Aug 2009 — This week we are making changes to computer systems in SENS Linux labs so that they use UBIT (central) passwords instead of SENS (local) passwords to authenticate users. The Citrix service will also change to using UBIT passwords instead of SENS passwords. If you find the password you're using (UBIT or SENS) doesn't work, try the other one. If you still can't get access, please send email to senshelp@buffalo.edu.
Did You Know … That Help is Only an Email Away?
While you can contact us by phone or by walking down to our offices on the first floor of Bell Hall, the most efficient way to contact us for assistance is to send an email. Email Hoaxes Continue
19 Sep 2008 — As we've warned in the past, be careful of emails that look like they are coming from UB staff but really aren't. These often have attachments containing viruses; please do not open any zip files or other such attachments, just delete the messages. A legitimate message from SENS will not have a zip file attachment. Here is an example of these kinds of hoaxes:
Dear user of xxx.buffalo.edu,
Your account was used to send a large amount of unsolicited commercial email during this week. Probably, your computer had been compromised and now contains a hidden proxy server.
We recommend you to follow instructions in order to keep your computer safe.
Best wishes,
